CVA Spread Awareness
On Wednesday September 27th, we welcomed representatives from Concerned Veterans for America for our Muster & Mingle. We had some great pizza from Long Shots, as well as cookies and drinks. After everyone ate their fill, they shared about their organization and the legislation they are working to enact.
From CVA’s website:
“We are veterans from every branch of uniformed services and every conflict from World War II to the Global War on Terror. We are the family members of those who have proudly worn the uniform. We are freedom-loving citizens who value America’s heroes and are concerned about the fate of our country. We come from all walks of life and live in every community across America…We are committed to the historical promise of our nation: that all Americans have an equal opportunity to pursue prosperity. We affirm this commitment by working to return to the tradition of limited, effective government so that those men and women who have given the most in service to this nation will not be denied their chance to enjoy that prosperity.”
During their presentation, CVA talked about the various methods they have for empowering veterans, from working on legislation, partnering with lawmakers, meeting with representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs, and even their My VA Story program. The My VA Story program allows veterans to tell the story of their VA experience, both good and bad. CVA signed several veterans up for this program during our Muster & Mingle, and they are looking forward to sharing their experiences to help make our local VA even better!
We are so grateful for the partnership with CVA and the dedication they show to serving our veterans. If you would like to join us for Muster & Mingle, we will be back in Tipp City at the Tipp Center on October 25, with guest speaker Marian Montgomery from Invite A Vet.
