Celebrating Back-to-School in Shelby County

Oh my goodness, you guys—our Shelby County Back-to-School event was so amazing, we’re still smiling from it! On August 10, we took over the Sidney Veterans Center and handed out backpacks and school supplies to over 3 dozen kids—that’s a LOT of smiles, excitement, and tiny high-fives!

Our volunteers were absolute superheroes. The youngest among them took charge, walking families through the line, helping parents with multiple kiddos, and making sure every single child got everything they needed… and even some of the things they wanted. The energy, the laughter, the joy—it was contagious.

And can we talk about the backpacks for a minute? Thanks to Sarynity and Levi King, who spent their second summer in a row selling lemonade just to buy backpacks to donate, we had some seriously cool backpacks ready for our students. Talk about going above and beyond!

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Shelby County Veterans Services for their donation of backpacks and for helping us make this event run smoothly. Your support means the world and helped us put together an unforgettable day for these kids.

We are so grateful for every volunteer, every backpack, every smile—and we can’t wait to do it again next year! To see where we’ll be in the meantime, check out our Upcoming Events page by clicking here. We hope to see you at one of our future events!
