Throughout September, Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support will be visiting organizations across Miami, Darke, and Shelby counties to raise awareness about the 988 Crisis Line. Our goal is to help eliminate suicide within the veteran community by ensuring veterans and their families know where to turn in times of crisis.

Wednesday September 17 – Piqua, OH

Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support will be part of the upcoming Community Health Fair on Wednesday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fort Piqua Plaza. As members of the Miami, Darke, and Shelby County Suicide Prevention Coalition, we’ll be there to share resources and connect with the community.
Thursday September 25 – Dayton, OH

Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support is honored to join the Dayton VA Medical Center’s Suicide Prevention Team in observing National Suicide Prevention Month.
The event will feature a community resource fair, keynote address by Retired Naval Rescue Swimmer Bobby Powell, live music, and local food trucks — all in support of raising awareness and fostering hope within the veteran community.
We’re proud to stand alongside our partners in spreading the word about the 988 Veterans Crisis Line and encouraging veterans and their families to reach out in times of need.
Wednesday September 24 – Tipp City, OH

Our next Muster & Mingle in Tipp City is set for Tuesday, September 24! Join us for a relaxed evening of good food, great conversation, and time spent with fellow veterans and friends. Whether you’ve been before or this will be your first time, we’d love to see you there. Mark your calendars and come hungry — dinner’s on us!
Tuesday October 7 – Piqua, OH

Join us for our next Muster & Mingle on Monday, October 7th! Chief Lee from the Piqua Fire Department will be sharing important fire safety tips to help keep you and your family prepared. We’re extra lucky this month—Chief Lee’s wife will be treating us to a home-cooked dinner. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to connect with fellow veterans and caregivers for an evening of good food and great conversation.
Saturday October 4 – Piqua, OH

Join us rain or shine for the Hero Harvest 5K Fun Run, hosted by Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support. The race starts at 8:30 AM, immediately following the Veteran Ceremony
Why Participate? All proceeds benefit Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support’s vital programs—empowering veterans, military families, widows, and active duty personnel.
A scenic 5K along the Great Miami River Trail, each runner/walker receives a race bib, T-shirt, and finish-line snack/breakfast. Mark your calendar and lace up to honor veterans while making a positive impact!

Saturday October 11 – Troy, OH

Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support will be participating as a vendor at an upcoming community event! We are excited to join local organizations in connecting with the community and sharing resources for veterans and caregivers.

Saturday October 25 – Piqua, OH

It’s our last Craft Co-Op of 2025! Grab your gals for a great time, painting and enjoying breakfast. This is a great project for all experience levels, so don’t worry if you’ve never done a craft like this before. We will have everything you need to paint a beautiful wooden sign, perfect for adding a touch of fall to your front door, entryway, or coffee bar. Saturday November 8 – Piqua, OH

We’re really excited about this one, but we don’t have all the details yet. But we want to make sure that you add this to your calendar! Last year, we had a great evening with a live band and dinner. Veterans were dancing, breadsticks were shared, and a wonderful time was had by everyone. We want to do that again this year! We will start the day off with a a community resource fair and end it with a bang. If you are an organization who wants to come and hang out with us, give us a call at (937) 570-6460. Our resource fair will be held during the monthly Second Saturday event, so it will be a great opportunity to reach a wider audience!
Saturday December 13 – Tipp City, OH

It’s one of our favorite events of the year! Join us (and a certain someone from up north!) for an afternoon of fun. We will have delicious sweet treats, crafts, games, and plenty of toys to give away. The elves are already busy preparing to make this a wonderful event!
