Rummage Sale Success!

Over the weekend, Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support hosted a community rummage sale—and thanks to your generosity, hustle, and heart, we raised nearly $2,000 to support local veterans and their caregivers!

From gently used treasures to spontaneous sidewalk deals, the sale was full of good finds and even better people. Events like this only succeed with strong community support, and we’re so grateful to everyone who donated, shopped, shared, or volunteered their time.

On Saturday, we introduced a new twist that had people racing to the tables: the Dutch Bucket Sale—a brainwave from our fearless director, Valerie. Shoppers paid $20 for a bucket and could take home anything they could fit inside. Then, at surprise intervals throughout the day, the price dropped. By 1:00 PM, it was all you could fit for just $5—and let’s just say, the competition got fierce. It brought a whole new level of fun (and strategy!) to the rummage experience.

We also want to give special thanks to our incredible partners:

  • The Piqua Center, for donating the event space and ensuring security patrolled the area—your generosity made the event possible.
  • Megan Harter, for donating clothing racks that kept our sale tidy and accessible.
  • Sunset Cleaners, for donating nearly a literal mountain of hangers—an unsung hero of rummage success!

And to our volunteers: you carried boxes, set up tables, made change, sorted donations, and smiled through it all. This impact belongs to you.

Every dollar raised helps us continue our mission to serve those who served. Thank you for turning your spring cleaning into meaningful support.
