A Cozy Morning of Creativity and Community

On Saturday, October 25th, Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support hosted a fall-themed Craft Co-Op where participants painted round pumpkin signs while enjoying a cozy brunch together. Fourteen women joined in — a mix of mothers and daughters, old friends, and new faces ready to create something beautiful.

Our complimentary brunch featured a build-your-own yogurt parfait bar (with three kinds of granola!), fresh fruit, bagels, English muffins, and sausage, along with orange juice and hot coffee to start the morning off right.

Tish led the group step-by-step through creating an aged wood grain texture, tracing pumpkin outlines, and picking just the right fall colors. The only challenge? Perfecting the shading on our pumpkins — but as Tish reminded everyone, “every piece of art has an ugly phase.” With a little patience and encouragement, every participant ended the morning with a finished piece they were proud of.

From laughter over coffee to the joy of trying something new, this Craft Co-Op was the perfect way to celebrate community and creativity. A heartfelt thank-you to our event sponsor, Devoted Health Plans, for helping make mornings like this possible! We can’t wait to see everyone again at our next event!
