October Community Highlights: Connecting, Serving, and Celebrating
October was a busy and rewarding month for Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support, with several opportunities to connect with our community, support local families, and share our mission. From festive fun to meaningful outreach, here’s a look back at where we’ve been this month:
Collins Aerospace Employee Benefit Fair – October 17

We were honored to participate in the Collins Aerospace Employee Benefit Fair, connecting with employees and sharing the resources and programs available through Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support. Events like this allow us to reach working families, veterans, and caregivers in the community, ensuring that those who serve and support others know that help is always within reach.
Blue Star Families “Nourish the Service” – October 18

Held at Evans Family Farm in New Carlisle, this event brought together families for a day of support and seasonal fun. Blue Star Families distributed groceries and personal hygiene supplies to military and veteran households, while Evans Family Farm treated guests to hayrides, pumpkin picking, a pumpkin cannon, and a petting zoo.
Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support joined other community partners—including the Ohio State Extension Office, Butler County Library, and Concerned Veterans for America—to share resources and connect with attendees. It was a day filled with gratitude, laughter, and community connection.
Piqua Center Trick or Treat – October 20

Our team had a blast at the annual Piqua Center Trick or Treat event! The Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support table, themed “Firehouse Friends,” featured Chris, Diane, and Tamara dressed up as friendly firehouse pups. Our message, “Heroes Helping Heroes,” reminded families that veterans and caregivers are part of the everyday hero community.
We handed out over 2,000 pieces of candy to local trick-or-treaters and loved seeing all the smiles, costumes, and community spirit throughout the evening.
Each of these events gave us the chance to meet new faces, reconnect with familiar ones, and continue our mission of serving veterans, caregivers, and their families through community engagement.
Stay tuned for more photos and upcoming opportunities to get involved—we can’t wait to see everyone again soon!
