Packing Care and Sharing Connection
What a night we had at our August 27 Muster & Mingle! Dinner from Romer’s Catering hit the spot, and Regina Fidler added a sweet touch by bringing along a cake that everyone enjoyed. The food was wonderful, but the real heart of the evening came afterward.
Together, we packed up forty care packages for the 1487th Transportation Company, who recently deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Thanks to the generosity of the Eagles in Covington and several of our local veterans, those boxes weren’t just filled with snacks, hygiene items, games, and magazines—they carried reminders from home. Each package included a handwritten note from one of the veterans in the room, a personal message meant to let our soldiers know they’re never far from our thoughts.
There was such a sense of purpose in the room as the packages stacked up, ready to travel overseas. It’s amazing what happens when people gather not only to share a meal, but also to pour a little care and encouragement into the lives of others.

We’re already looking forward to the next time we get together. Be sure to check out our Upcoming Events page to see what’s coming up—you won’t want to miss it!
