Wings, Wisdom, and Water Conservation

On Tuesday, June 25, our community came together once again for an evening filled with connection, conversation, and plenty of good food at our monthly Muster & Mingle. It’s always a joy to see familiar faces and welcome new ones, and this gathering was no exception.

We were honored to have Fricker’s of Troy generously provide dinner for the evening. From wings to pasta salad, they kept our plates full and our hearts even fuller with their continued support of local veterans, caregivers, and their families. Strawberry shortcake was a simply delicious end to the meal. We’re grateful for their partnership and dedication to our mission.

Our guest speaker for the night was Linda from the Miami Soil and Water Conservation District. Linda shared an eye-opening presentation about conservation efforts right here in our own community. She covered everything from local water quality and soil health to the simple ways we can all make a positive environmental impact—whether that’s through rain gardens, composting, or mindful land use. Her passion for protecting our natural resources really resonated with the group and sparked some meaningful discussions afterward.

As always, beyond the program, there was plenty of time for mingling, laughter, and shared experiences. These gatherings aren’t just about learning—they’re about building a strong, supportive community where everyone feels heard, valued, and connected. Many of our attendees stuck around after the presentation to swap stories, offer support, and simply enjoy the evening together.

If you weren’t able to make it this time, we missed you! But we’d love to see you at one of our upcoming events. Be sure to check out our Upcoming Events page to see what’s on the horizon—you won’t want to miss it!
