A Cozy New Year’s Eve at Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support

Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support closed out 2025 with a relaxed New Year’s Eve Open House, offering a welcoming space for connection, conversation, and community as we looked ahead to a new year.

Those who joined us spent the evening enjoying classic games like Sequence, Farkle, and Battleship, with plenty of laughter and friendly competition mixed in. The food spread was just as inviting, featuring ham sliders, buffalo chicken dip, pigs in a blanket, fruit and veggie trays, and cheese and cracker trays — the kind of comfort food that encourages people to gather and linger.

As the evening unfolded, meaningful conversations filled the room. Daniel and Doug bonded over a shared love of photography, jokes were exchanged across tables, and we were grateful for visits from familiar faces and longtime friends of the organization.

The night also included a particularly meaningful moment of remembrance. In 2025, we lost Ted Miller, a longtime friend of Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support. Ted’s widow and daughter stopped by during the open house to say hello and share unearthed memories from his “Pink Monkey” deployment during the Vietnam War. Their visit was a touching reminder of the stories, friendships, and shared history that continue to shape our community.

Our New Year’s Eve Open House wasn’t about fanfare or countdowns — it was about being together, honoring those we’ve lost, and entering the new year grounded in connection. We’re grateful to everyone who stopped in and helped us close out 2025 in a way that felt true to our mission.
