Veterans and Jazz is Music to our Ears!

Tuesday February 4th was a special evening for Muster & Mingle. We met at a special location, the Piqua Christian Church, for a evening full of music. The Piqua High School Jazz Band was gracious enough to come and play for us, and everyone enjoyed their musical selections. Many of the students had double duty that evening, and since they were needed back at the high school for musical practice (PHS is doing Grease this year), we rearranged the usual order of events. Typically we eat first and then our speaker gives their presentation, but we flipped it! After a quick warm-up, we were treated to a musical medley that had us tapping our toes and swaying to the beat.

After our concert, we enjoyed a dinner of make your own burrito bowls! Veterans could make their bowl with chicken, black beans, rice, lettuce, corn, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. Piqua Christian Church serves a community meal every Wednesday, and we really enjoyed the use of their warming cabinets! Everyone enjoyed a hot meal while chatting and reminiscing.
