Potluck Brings Out the Best in Veterans

Our October 28th Muster & Mingle was a wonderful evening of good food, great company, and helpful information!

Dinner was a true community effort! Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support provided baked chicken thighs and cake, while our veterans brought the rest of the meal together with homemade creamed corn, green beans with ham and potatoes, bean salad, zucchini bread, and more. There was certainly no shortage of good food! That’s one of our favorite things about Muster & Mingle. It’s more than just a monthly gathering. It’s an opportunity to share a meal, learn about available resources, and enjoy time with people who understand the value of community.

We welcomed Rita Yarwick, Caregiver Support Coordinator from the Dayton VA, as our guest speaker. Rita shared information about the VA’s caregiver support resources and programs available to veterans and those who care for them.

Thank you to Rita for joining us and to everyone who brought a dish, shared a conversation, or simply came out to spend the evening with us. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next Muster & Mingle! For more information on where you can find us next, be sure to check out our Upcoming Events page by clicking here!
