New Muster Location, Same Veteran Community

On Tuesday March 7th, we launched our newest Muster & Mingle in Piqua. Meeting in the banquet room of the Miami Valley Centre Mall, we gathered in hopes of reaching those veterans in northern Miami County and southern Shelby county who were not able to make the drive down to Tipp City. We prepared turkey enchiladas and waited to see who would be joining us. We were pleasantly surprised by the turnout, and the veterans spent about an hour talking amongst themselves, meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones.

Our presentation began with announcements, since we had mostly new faces in attendance. We talked about our upcoming events, and presented some activities of interest in the area, including the showing of The Hello Girls of WWII and the free veteran’s breakfast at the Miami County Veteran’s Museum, since it was happening the next morning. We had planned to host a speaker to present on the PACT Act, but they were unable to attend. Thankfully our Director, Valerie, has been involved in training on the PACT Act and was able to present. She gave an overview of the Act, and gave information on how the changes affected various veterans. They are trained to help you, and nothing makes them happier than helping veterans to receive the care they deserve!

We are so excited to see how this Northern Muster & Mingle will grow, and we look forward to having you join us at our next Piqua Muster & Mingle, Tuesday April 4th.
