We are really getting excited for our April 22nd event, Flourish Ladies Luncheon. This event is open to female veterans and veteran, active duty, reserve, National Guard and retiree spouses. We will have lunch from Montage Café in Greenville, a succulent planting activity demonstrated by the Hive Collective, spring planting giveaways, and so much more!
Our featured speaker for this event is Rachel Castle, from Dayton. Rachel is excited to be speaking at our Flourish event, as both a veteran wife and a lover of nature. She has been married to Shaun, a US Navy and Ohio National Guard veteran, for 22 years. Rachel is the current US Mrs. American Buckeye State, and has a rich history of competing in pageants. In high school, she realized her love of community service and performing on stage could be combined when she competed in her first pageant. She went on to place in the Top Ten in the Miss Ohio program, becoming a Miss America State Scholar, earning thousands in scholarships to help with college tuition. She went on to receive her Master’s degree in Human Development from the University of Dayton.
Rachel has continued to be an advocate for pageantry and women’s development, volunteering many times a year as a judge and mentor, all throughout Ohio. As the 2023 US American Mrs Buckeye State, she will represent the Buckeye State at the US American Miss National competition in Florida in July. Rachel developed a love of nature while growing up on her family farm, and she now uses her platform to educate others on simple ways to help the environment. She also works hard to promote the Crown Cares mission, dedicated to spreading kindness and civility in society.
Rachel’s greatest honor is serving her country, from her career beginnings in Civil Service at Wright Patt Air Force Base, to the Dayton Development Coalition as the Director of Defense Programs, to her current job managing a global workforce as Senior Program Manager for a veteran-owned business based in Virginia. Her title as US American Mrs Buckeye State allows her to combine her desire to serve her country and her love of nature. We know we can’t wait to learn more about her on April 22nd! You can check out Rachel’s social media here and follow along as she prepares to represent Ohio in July.
