Festive Fun for Summer

Over the July 4th holiday weekend, Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support was pleased to take part in community celebrations in Pleasant Hill and West Milton. The 1st Annual Pleasant Hill Lights Up the Night was such a great event, with a car show, community trivia, and the Little Firecracker Pageant. We were able to meet lots of local veterans and played a trivia game with the kids. Did you know the hot dog and Lifesaver candies were invented in Ohio? In West Milton we were set up at the ‘top of the hill’, which allowed us to interact with almost all the festival attendees. We we’re so excited to meet with a young man who will be leaving soon for boot camp, the first in his family to join the service. Both events ended with amazing fireworks displays.

We began selling our Summer FUNdraiser Raffle tickets at these events. For the Lights Up the Night event, we were able to bring several raffle baskets to raffle off in addition to our large raffle. We would like to thank the organizations that donated to make our fundraising so successful!
