Santa Event Even Sweeter for 2nd Year
Our 2nd Annual Santa’s Sweet Shop was Saturday December 17th from 1-4. This year’s event was in Tipp City, at the Tipp Center. The snow flakes that fell outside added to the wonderful ambiance of the afternoon, and they were beautiful to watch from the warmth of the building! The husband and wife Duo of DJ Marrs kept everyone in the holiday spirit while we waited for Santa to arrive. The tables were practically groaning under the weight of all the sweet treats, with homemade oatmeal gingerbread cookies, fudge, buckeyes, brownies, and so much more. Several people in the community donated their time and made treats for us, and we want to thank Premier Livestock 4H club and Sweet Treat Junkies for their donations!
Our elves had arranged a craft area for the kids, setting out coloring pages and wood crafts for them to enjoy while the adults had coffee and a chat. That was a big hit! DJ Marrs also mixed dance music with their holiday tunes, and children of all ages loves dancing to the Chicken Dance and the Cha Cha Slide.
Santa’s arrival was very exciting, and the kids ran to greet him. He spent time with every child, even those who were a little apprehensive. After getting their gift from Santa, the children were able to choose some goodies from the tables of toys that had been donated via Operation Homefront. We are grateful to Menards for answering our day-of plea for bags, to allow each child to carry home their bounty.
All in all, our 2nd Annual Santa’s Sweet Shop was an amazing event, for young and old alike. We had more than 30 families in attendance, and everyone left with a smile on their face. We are already looking forward to a great event next year, so we hope you join us! In the meantime, be sure to check out our events page to see what we have coming up!
