Comradery and Warmth in Piqua

For our October 3rd Muster & Mingle in Piqua we enjoyed a meal donated by Texas Roadhouse. Steak tips, grilled chicken, green beans and lots of delicious rolls made for a pleasant dinner. After the meal, our Director Valerie Mullikin shared the story of Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support. She started at the very beginning with five friends who gathered to try and do more for veterans, to where we are today as a vibrant organization hosting over 30 events a year, all at no cost to veterans and their families.

After that, the veterans grouped up and began to mingle, making new friends, and in one case, re-connecting with old ones. We had the pleasure of witnessing the reconnecting of an group of friends who used to do the car show circuit together but had fallen out of contact after a move. It was so joyful to see them catch up on all that had happened in their lives since they had last met.

We will be in Piqua again on November 7th, for our last Piqua Muster & Mingle of 2023. When we come back in 2024 we will be in the Senior Center located next to the Piqua YMCA, and you will be able to find all of that information here! We are looking forward to seeing you!
