Bad Art Makes for a Great Time

On Thursday March 31st, Operation Veteran and Caregiver Support held their Muster & Mingle event at the Troy-Miami County Public Library. Under the guidance of Bill Schlimme, the Senior Manager for Patron Services, veterans and their families competed to see who could create the best worst art. Veterans were apprehensive at first, but it turned out that a picture really is worth a thousand words for some of our veterans, with most of them using the various mediums available to tell stories of their time in service.

Once time was up, everyone used their stickers to vote for their favorite pieces. Each person received three stickers to vote with, the piece with the most stickers at the end was deemed the winner.

The winning art piece, made by John Brady, entitled ‘Bunny Patrol’

Our next Muster & Mingle event will be held April 27th at the Tipp Center. We will be hosting the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to learn about the programming and events they have available to veterans. For more information, check out our upcoming events page or our Facebook!
